A Roof for a Hero: Celebrating Marine Veteran Jacqui Weaver

At Freed Construction, we believe in giving back to those who have given so much for us. This year, as part of our fist military hero roof giveaway, we are honored to recognize Jacqui Weaver as our military hero.

Jacqui’s journey of service began in 2004 when she joined the United States Marine Corps. She dedicated her military career to signals intelligence, serving with III MEF in Okinawa, Japan, and later with 1st Radio Battalion at Camp Pendleton, California. Her commitment to excellence and service has continued well beyond her time in uniform. Today, Jacqui plays an active role in both her church and the veteran community, volunteering at Prairie Lakes Church and Celebrate Recovery. She is also deeply involved with Ruck Iowa, where she helps plan events that bring veterans together and provide much-needed support.

Jacqui lives in Hudson, Iowa, where she has built a life centered around faith, family, and community. But above all, her most cherished role is being a mom to her eight-year-old son, Jerry. Her heart for service extends even to her home, where she has created a loving environment for her family—including her two rescue dogs. PJ, a one-year-old Alaskan Malamute mix, was a stray saved from the devastation of Hurricane Beryl in Texas and brought to Iowa, where Jacqui welcomed him with open arms. She also has Lily, an 11-year-old schnauzer with striking long black eyelashes, who has been by her side for years.

This past week, we had the privilege of meeting Jacqui and her wonderful dogs while inspecting her roof. As we discussed shingle colors and the details of her new roof, we were reminded of the incredible people who walk among us—those who serve, sacrifice, and continue to uplift their communities every day. Max had the opportunity to personally thank Jacqui for her service, and we all left feeling incredibly grateful to know such an inspiring person.

Jacqui, you are a deserving recipient of this year’s Freed Construction roof giveaway. Your dedication, resilience, and kindness make the world a better place. We are proud to celebrate you and provide you with a new roof as a small token of our appreciation for all you have done.

Thank you for your service, your heart for others, and the example you set for all of us. It is truly an honor to know you.

We are planning to install Jacqui’s roof on a day this spring that will also allow us to have lunch together to celebrate Jacqui and her family. We invite the community to join us in honoring her, sharing a meal, and showing our gratitude for her service and dedication. Stay tuned for more details—we’d love to see you there! We will keep you posted when we select a date.
